It is an installation classified for the protection of the environment. It is in a fixed place and its operations present risks for the environment. A specific regulation applies to these installations and the DREAL is the government organisation which makes sure the regulation is observed.<\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWHAT IS ISO 14001 CERTIFICATION?<\/a><\/p>\n

It is an international standard governing requirements concerning environmental management.<\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIS IT MANDATORY?<\/a><\/p>\n

It is voluntary. The company that complies with the current regulations will set itself new targets to improve how it operates everyday in environmental terms. If a company complies with current regulations, it will set new targets for improving its environmental performance on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWHO CHECKS?<\/a><\/p>\n

An accredited external organisation such as AFAQ AFNOR. It will perform audits every year to check the compliance and effectiveness of the environmental management system.<\/p>\n
